As reported by The Daily Mail, Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has received a three-game ban for an elbow on Valon Behrami from the game against Watford last time out.
The news has not been welcomed by our resident Foxes fans here in the Transfer Tavern, given the importance of the midfielder to the side, but it is a decision they can accept after some pretty damning evidence.
It became clear during video replays of the incident that the Englishman swung for the Swiss international intentionally during the Foxes 2-1 loss at Vicarage Road at the weekend and thus he cannot have many complaints ahead of the next three games for Claudio Ranieri’s men.
It’s going to be a crucial time for the club as we head toward Christmas now they have confirmed their Champions League progression.
Their Premier League title defence has been poor in light of their commitment to Europe and now they’ll be hoping to get things back on track domestically before the knockout stages early next year.
Drinkwater will miss games against Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Manchester City thanks to his ban as Leicester look to improve on their current standing of 14th in the division.
How big a miss will he be Leicester fans? Let us know below…
