Leno won plenty of fans over on his debut yesterday

Bernd Leno made his first Premier League appearance of the season yesterday as he came off the bench for an injured Petr Cech in the dying minutes of the first half as Arsenal took on Watford at The Emirates. The German ‘keeper held his nerve despite having to come off the bench to make his debut and the fans will be pleased with his start to life in the Premier League.

For the Arsenal fans, seeing leno finally make his first Premier League appearance of the season was brilliant. They’ve been calling for their new ‘keeper to start in the league for weeks now and to see him in the net yesterday, albeit only for 45 minutes, as Unai Emery went head-to-head with his countryman Javi Gracia was a welcome sight. Petr Cech was superb against Everton last week and deserved to start, however, the fans loved finally seeing Leno.

This week sees The Gunners return to Europa League action and after Leno started against FC Vorskla last time out, the fans are now unsure who Emery will trust between the sticks as they edge closer to their trip to Qarabag. The Thursday clash shouldn’t be too tough for Arsenal and Emery will be expected to ring the changes. However, with Leno impressing and a tough trip to Craven Cottage next Sunday, it remains to be seen who will play on Thursday evening.
