The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from Argentine gaffer, Mauricio Pochettino. The Spurs boss has backed his players to complete the job and ensure Champions League football in their first season at their new home in August. Spurs are in the driving seat for a 3rd place finish but need to put a few poor results behind them as they face Newcastle and Leicester at Wembley in the next week.

Back in mid-April, after Spurs beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, the fans thought that Champions League football was guaranteed as they’d opened up a ten-point gap between themselves in 4th and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea in 5th. Now though, with just two games remaining, that gap sits at two points with two games left to go. If Spurs can win their final two games they will finish third, although the recent performances have left much to be desired for the fans.
Pochettino’s time in North London has been incredible. The gaffer has had them playing Champions League in back-to-back seasons and now he could make it three seasons in a row for Spurs at Europe’s top table. In addition to that, Poch, as he’s known by the loving Lilywhites, has seen them reach two FA Cup semi-finals and a League Cup final all at Wembley. Our Tottenham faithful have been disappointed with the recent results though, and Pochettino is the man they’re all looking to as they hope for a change of fortunes in time for Newcastle’s visit tomorrow night.

Less talk, more action. Should’ve been wrapped up 2 weeks ago, now we have to brick it until last match day. COYS

Can we give Kane a rest, please can we start with, Dele, Eriksen, Son, Lamela/Lucas – we look so much more dynamic without him at the moment

Select a team capable of it then keep lamela and sissoko a million miles away from it

Its Simple. 2 wins, we are 3rd and we are happy. Considering we've been playing away all season I don't think that is bad at all. Newcastle and Leicester have nothing to play for, if we can't beat them both we have to seriously question our mentality.
