Much has been made of Tottenham’s failure to bring in any new faces over the summer, but it’s time for the club to move on. It’s a new window and a new opportunity for Daniel Levy to impress Mauricio Pochettino and the Spurs faithful with his shrewd transfer dealings, and he can’t pass up this opportunity.
A few new faces could help to improve Tottenham as Lucas Moura did last January, and that could be the difference between Tottenham winning the title and falling well short.
We recently made the case for Polish forward Krzysztof Piatek being the ideal man to bring a bit of Moura magic to the club in January. The forward, who has scored 13 league goals this season, has impressed over in Italy, and he could be a good fit.
At least, it seems as though a number of Tottenham fans think so. We asked Spurs fans whether they’d like to see their club sign Piatek, and a whopping 86% of those polled voted in favour of a potential move.
Of course, Tottenham lack offensive depth beyond Harry Kane, and so someone like Piatek – who is a proven goalscorer – could be just the ticket.
He’s young and he has plenty of room still to grow, and that’s exactly the sort of player that Pochettino likes to sign.
Will Spurs make a move? It’s too soon to say, but it’d be a popular decision among fans.
