‘Let’s get him in a Utd shirt’ – Manchester United fans are thrilled by Mourinho’s latest plan

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about the state of their side’s defence. Though Jose Mourinho is often famed for his focus on the defensive side of the game, it doesn’t appear as though his players got the memo this year.

Though the attack is filled with quality and depth, Man Utd’s defence is undoubtedly the weakest point in the first team, with the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling failing to impress at the back.

It will come as no surprise, then, to learn that Jose Mourinho reportedly has a plan to improve the back-line. According to the Mirror, Mourinho is looking at Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane this season, with a £50 million move reportedly being eyed.

Varane is, of course, one of Europe’s best central defenders – having been a crucial player for Real Madrid over the last few years. He broke into the team under Mourinho when the Man Utd boss was in Spain, and so it’s clear that the pair are great at working together.

Always quick to respond to rumours like this, the Man Utd fans have been responding to this report over the last few hours, and it’s fair to say that they’re quite excited by Mourinho’s plan.

Indeed, whilst many aren’t sure that a deal will come to fruition, they’re pleased that Mourinho wants to bring a player like him to Old Trafford.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
