Manchester City striker Robinho is currently being name-tagged as a target for Italian outfit AC Milan. To say that the Brazilian star is unsettled in Manchester would be the understatement of the century with Robinho’s desired return to Santos clearly at the forefront of his mind.
AC Milan hope to capitalise on the player’s hope for leaving England as they attempt to add Robinho to their squad.
He would be joining new boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic; the Swedish striker sealed a loan move from Barcelona on Saturday. If a deal is to be reached, Massamiliano Allegri will have constant selection headaches with the array of attacking players available to him: Huntelaar, Ronaldinho, Inzaghi, Pato and Borriello will all be competing for first team places if they remain at the San Siro stadium.
Manchester City’s record signing has had a turbulent time in the Eastlands. All started positively as the striker scored 14 goals in his first season, but the following year was disastrous for the 26-year-old as injuries and spats saw the striker appear only 10 times for the Blues. His loan move to Santos earlier in the year was the result of homesickness and a lack of first team football ahead of the World Cup, with the player publicly stating his intent to stay in Brazil after helping his first club to win the Copa Brasil.
It now looks like Robinho is willing to move just about anywhere in order to leave England despite turning down a move to Fenerbahce.
Milan owner Berlusconi is set to take on the disillusioned forward:
“It doesn’t depend on us, if it depended on us…Milan’s intentions are there.
“Where could he play? We have so many possibilities and then it’s better to have three players for two roles.”
