The Daily Mail has reported that PSV Eindhoven’s striker, Ola Toivonen, is being scouted by many clubs across Europe and if Tottenham want to secure the signature of the Swedish international, they must act fast.
The £7 million price tag has attracted clubs such as Valenica, Genoa, Fiorentina as well as last year’s clubs who had offeres rejected. This included Liverpool, West Brom and also Sunderland.
Scoring 18 goals in 33 games for PSV, there is no question why the striker has attracted so much attention across Europe. Interestingly, Toivonen has not played down talks of a move away from PSV. He recently stated:
‘If something interesting comes along, I will look into it.’
With Toivonen interested in finding a new challenge and a proven goal scoring record, any club who would want the striker needs to act quickly, especially Tottenham.
Having great experience in the Europe League, and scoring 3 times in 4 appearances whilst in the competition, has helped the 25 year old striker to gain attention from across the continent which is making the job of the clubs who want to sign him more difficult; due to an increase in competition for this summer bargain.
With the player sheduled to play in Euro 2012, there will be no doubt that many eyes will be on him as the race for his signature heats up.
