The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned by their club’s lack of transfer activity so far during the January window.
Whilst plenty of the big clubs in the Premier League have been linked with players on almost a daily basis, Tottenham have so far been relatively quiet in the transfer market. The Lilywhites propping up the bar in the tavern were disappointed by their club’s failure to rival Chelsea for the signature of Ross Barkley. However, the supporters are keen to move on and focus their attention towards other quality players who can help Tottenham to finish inside the top-four this season.
According to Sky Italia (Via talkSport), Tottenham could be set to face another missed opportunity in the transfer market, as Inter Milan are weighing up a move to sign Andre Schurrle on loan from Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season.
The former Chelsea talent cut a rather popular figure amongst the neutrals during his time in the Premier League, but he was forced to move away from Stamford Bridge due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
Since his transfer to Borussia Dortmund, Schurrle has endured a rather torrid time with injuries which have served to stagnate his career in the Bundesliga.
Consequently, the German international has made just a single start for the club in the German top-flight so far, and with a place in Joachim Low’s World Cup squad to consider, it is no wonder Schurrle is edging towards a move away from Dortmund.
Schurrle’s versatility to play out wide and as a striker would give Tottenham a real edge going into the business end of the season, especially considering Llorente has failed to impress at the club as of yet.
Levy could complete a financially shrewd piece of business with a loan swoop for Schurrle this month, so he must bring him to the club in a bid to enhance Tottenham’s Champions League prospects.
