Levy Quoted Over £20M For Duo To Truly Shake Up Spurs Squad

The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham are heavily keeping track on two potential transfers who they hope will be at their club next season.

Firstly, the newspaper have reported that Tottenham are leading the chase for Newcastle’s Demba Ba due to a clause in his contract allowing the player to leave. With the fee only totaling £7 million, it means that this striker would be much cheaper than the other alternatives Tottenham have been linked to.

However, even though Pardew stated,

“It is not a foregone conclusion that he will stay”,

the 27 year old striker has had bad injuries in the past which could see him fail a medical at the club if a bid was made. This also was a problem in the past when he failed a medical at Stoke City before signing for West Ham. But, as he scored 15 goals just in the first half of the season, it is easy to see why he will attract a lot of attention from top clubs in the window.

The other target the Daily Mail has linked to Tottenham is Gaston Ramirez. The 22 year old midfielder from Uruguay is said to be seen as a replacement for Rafael Van Der Vaart if he is to leave Spurs this summer, amid allegations that he may move to Germany to be with his wife.

Currently, Ramirez plays for the Italian side Bologna after being with the Serie A side for 2 years. But, the midfielder has attracted attention from the Champions of many European leagues including the Serie A champions, Juventus, and Premier League winners, Manchester City.

Ramirez’s agent recently said,

‘I can confirm that Juventus and Manchester City have contacted me to show an interest

…as well as interest being shown by Liverpool, Wolfsburg, Inter Milan, Napoli and an “important Spanish club”.

But, with Bologna asking for £14 million in order to persuade them parting ways with Ramirez, it means that Tottenham will have to invest heavily in the transfer market to challenge for Champions League football next season.
