Levy ready to dig deeper into his pockets as Tottenham plot very important talks – report

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern think that Harry Kane is the best forward in the world. He’s certainly proven his lethality this season, having become the most prolific player in Europe this year, but he’s now quickly turning into a legend according to our resident Lilywhites.

Indeed, he’s clearly very highly valued amongst Tottenham circles, and that appears to be extending to the Spurs brass, too. According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are ready to pull out all of the stops to ensure that Kane stays at Tottenham over the coming years. Indeed, it appears as though Daniel Levy is ready to dig deep into his pockets, with Spurs reportedly ready to ‘smash’ their wage structure in order to give Kane a new deal.

The club are clearly very keen to ensure that they hold on to the striker, though their financial constraints have often made it difficult to ensure that a player doesn’t have his head turned. Rarely eager to spend big on player salaries, Tottenham are clearly willing to change that in the case of Kane.

He’s certainly deserving of an increased salary. Over the last year, since he signed his last deal, Kane has come on leaps and bounds. His 29-goal tally of last season was excellent, but given that he has already bagged 18 league goals this season, he could be on for an even better campaign this time around.

Tottenham’s chances of success clearly depend on the form of Kane, and so they must hold on to him, that much is clear.

Landlord’s Verdict

The importance of Kane cannot be understated. Beyond his goals, his leadership, passion and determination truly make Tottenham tick going forward.

He’s clearly going to have interest in him over the coming years, but a fresh wage packet should be enough to keep his head firmly entrenched in North London – for the time being anyway.
