Spanish club Sevilla have once again reiterated their interest in signing Tottenham winger Giovani Dos Santos, but the Spanish outfit insist they are not willing to meet Spurs’ valuation for the Mexican 22-year-old.
The Mexican looked set to join Sevilla during the summer and had agreed personal terms, but the two clubs failed to meet a valuation for Dos Santos.
The Mexican whizz-kid has made just seven appearances for Spurs this season, with most of them being in the Carling Cup and Europa League. In the Premiership Giovani has only made cameo appearances as a substitute and has expressed his frustration for not being able to leave during the summer.
He has failed to make an impact since his move from Barcelona, and has found himself to be loaned out to Ipswich, Galatasary and Racing Santander during his spell at Tottenham.
Sevilla look to bolster their attacking options and Dos Santos would be a perfect candidate for Los Rojiblancos; but club president Jose Maria Del Nido, told Giralda TV: “At this moment, the club does not have the money asked for by Tottenham.
“The decision is clear. Giovani is not valued at €11m, as is demanded by the English. I view the deal as impossible.”
Sevilla claim to have offered €4.5m (£4m) plus €500,000 (£435,430) in add-ons which they consider as a good” bid. We may have used some artistic licence with the headline quote, but clearly there is a huge gulf between what Seville are offering and what Tottenham are seeking.Like what the TT have on offer?
