Lichtsteiner and Iwobi need to buck up their ideas

Arsenal failed to get the better of defending Premier League champions Manchester City last time out as they were beaten convincingly at the Etihad.

The Gunners need to return to winning ways quickly if they are to stand any chance of securing a top four spot, with Manchester United and Chelsea securing positive results last time out.

Interestingly, Arsenal will travel to the John Smith’s Stadium to face Huddersfield Town later on today in their next Premier League fixture. The Terriers haven’t been at their best up until this point in the current campaign as they continue to float around in the relegation zone, so the Gunners will fancy themselves.

However, after last weekend’s performance against the Citizens,¬†Emery will be hoping that these TWO Arsenal player buck up their ideas today…

STEPHAN LICHTSTEINER

Stephan Lichtsteiner has struggled to adjust to the flow of the English game ever since he moved to the Emirates.

His last performance against Manchester City was one of his worst yet as he struggled with Raheem Sterling’s movement and made a number of errors. Indeed, this isn’t the first time that the Swiss international has put in a woeful performance in the red shirt, so he’ll need to be at this best from now on.

ALEX IWOBI

Alex Iwobi has been one of the bright sparks for the Gunners in the current campaign, but his last performance against the Citizens was less than acceptable. He was at fault for the first, meek for the third and was even hooked early by Emery, so he’ll need to work his way back into the Spaniard’s good books.

Today’s game against Huddersfield provides him with the perfect opportunity to get back to his best, as the Terriers have one of the worst defensive records in the top-flight.
