It’s a player that was on the lips of most in the Football Transfer Tavern last year but once again Blackpool’s Thomas Ince is being speculated with a move away from the Championship outfit.
Today’s copy of The Mirror reports that Ligue 1 giants Monaco are targeting Ince who has been lined up by a host of Premier League sides including Swansea City, Cardiff City and Tottenham in the past.
The England Under-21 international has no shortage of suitors but will look to finish the current campaign with Championship side Blackpool.
Then he is free to leave and pursue a move that will no doubt include a lucrative pay day on the grounds that he would only cost a nominal compensation fee to move to another English club and next to nothing for moving abroad.
Swansea City and Ajax are also keen on the 21-year-old winger, who last term finished as the top assist maker in the Championship whilst also weighing in with 18 goals.
As one punter quips, Tangerine supporters would hope that if one man could persuade Thomas to sign a new deal it would be his dad Paul but as yet there appears to be no chance of him staying in the Championship.
Blackpool had accepted an £8 million bid from Cardiff City last summer but the youngster decided to stay at Bloomfield Road.
However a possible switch to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco could be more tempting especially if Claudio Ranieri’s side have secured a Champions League berth for next term.
Will Thomas Ince really be interested in a switch to Ligue 1 giants Monaco? Let us know your thoughts below.
