The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see some serious changes at Selhurst Park over the next couple of weeks…
It has not been a pleasant season for the Eagles, with a relegation fight on the cards and one manager already out of the door.
They’re currently sitting in 17th place, with just goal difference separating them from the drop zone.
Unfortunately for the Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern, though, things are showing no sign of improving – with a European side reportedly keen on one of the Eagles’ most high-profile players.
According to the Guardian, Marseille are eyeing up a move for Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye – with the French outfit seemingly looking to bolster out the strength of their midfield.
The Guardian note that Cabaye could be interested in a return to his native France, with his performances back in the Premier League proving inconsistent since his return to England.
Whilst Cabaye has not been in the greatest run of form over the last few months, the Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern recognise that he is one of their best players – and they think that to lose him would be a disaster.
Our landlord, though, isn’t so sure. Cabaye hasn’t been up to par this year, having only featured from the start 13 times, and he thinks that a sale could allow Sam Allardyce to invest in a few other areas on the pitch.
What’s more, he has only assisted twice this season and has yet to score – which is in stark contrast to the 7 goals and 2 assists that he achieved during his last season with Newcastle in 2014.
On his day, though, there are few better midfielders in the Premier League, as the below highlight reel shows.
