Lille’s young Belgian star Eden Hazard will not be making a move to Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Goal.com reports that Lille president Michel Seydoux will not sell Hazard, one of Europe’s brightest young talents, to the cash rich Parisian side.
“Hazard to PSG? We’re not going to reinforce a French team.”
In recent times Hazard has been linked with a number of Europe’s leading clubs with the name of Tottenham seeming to be at the top of the list. Hazard, 21, has admitted that Spurs are an attractive option for him and he has said that it is a dream of his to play in the English Premier League.
The Lille attacker looks as if he is certain to move onto a bigger club during the summer but their president has ruled out a move to another French side.
Seydoux conceded that it is becoming increasingly difficult for French clubs to hold onto their top talent because they cannot compete with other European budgets, besides Paris Saint-Germain.
“The difficulty for French clubs is to keep their players. We don’t have an economy like other European clubs to be able to keep our top players,”
Spurs fans will be buoyed by the fact that Hazard himself has admitted to being interested in moving to White Hart Lane. They will face stiff competition if they are to secure his signature as the Lille man has been linked with moves to Premier League clubs Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea.
