Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern look relieved that the Luis Suarez saga may well finally be over as Metro report that the Reds have accepted a £63 million offer for the forward.
Barcelona have been keen on the player, who has made no secret of the fact that he dreams of a switch to La Liga, and now despite his once again shocking behaviour during the World Cup, he looks set to see his dream come true.
The majority of our Liverpool fans are actually pleased to see Suarez leave, and state that no player is bigger than the club.
They were around long before him and will be there long after him – this time with their reputation in tact.
Being back in the Champions League has to take top priority next season and having Suarez make the headlines with more ill-advised behaviour is not something Brendan Rodgers wants or needs, hence the willingness to now sell him.
Initially a figure of £80 million had been suggested along with the inclusion of Alexis Sanchez and potentially Pedro, but not it seems that the offer on the table is just cash.
Liverpool fans. Are you that sorry to see Suarez go or can you do better in terms of someone who respects the club and upholds their reputation? Let us know your thoughts below.
