Liverpool are ready to let young midfielder Jonjo Shelvey leave the club this summer with Swansea City set to pounce, according to Mirror Football.
The Swans are hoping to use their existing relations with former manager Brendan Rodgers to put together a deal for the England Under-21 international midfielder as they look to sign the former Charlton Athletic man who will fit into their ball-playing style of play.
Rodgers has decided that Shelvey is surplus to requirements at Anfield as part of his major summer reshuffle and the Jacks view the 21-year-old as a bargain purchase to bring further success to the Liberty Stadium next season.
The Capital One Cup winners will have to pay over £5 million to secure the midfielder and the paper reports that a deal could be sorted within 48 hours with Liverpool eager to lower their wage bill.
The Reds have already signed Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Simon Mignolet this summer as Rodgers seeks an improved second campaign at the helm and this likely to see further departures from Anfield.
