It’s been a busy few days for Liverpool fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern, and they have yet another potential signing to discuss courtesy of sources at the Daily Mail.
The Reds are set to secure the signature of Spanish youngster Luis Alberto possibly as early as today, with the playmaker scheduled to arrive for a medical on Merseyside on Friday.
Alberto, who plays as a second striker is set to become the Reds third signing of the summer, after the arrival of Kolo Toure on a free transfer and Spaniard Iago Aspas, who is another forward in the process of completing a move to Anfield.
Alberto spent last season on loan at Barcelona B from Sevilla. The Catalan giants opted not to make the deal permanent, and whilst Sevilla had hoped to keep him, the cash-strapped club have been forced to accept a £6.8 million offer from the Reds.
He managed a total of 11 goals in 38 appearances for Barcelona B last season, and has been capped once by the Spanish Under-21 side.
He is another who fits into the mould of promising young talent, which has very much been the feature of Brendan Rodgers transfer business across his first year at the club.
He scored 25 goals in 77 games for Sevilla B between 2009 and 2012, and played just seven La Liga games in total for the Sevilla.
