Vitesse Arnhem striking sensation Wilfried Bony has caused drinks to be put down amidst a heated discussion around the jukebox as The Metro claim Chelsea and Liverpool are set to battle it out for the forward dubbed the ‘new Didier Drogba.’
The 23-year-old ace has caught the eye of both the Blues and the Reds – two clubs who have found themselves lacking in front of goal of late and despite the Stamford Bridge outfit being heavily linked to Radamel Falcao and Hulk, it is the Vitesse Arnhem man who is causing a stir in this latest development.
If Chelsea wish to lure the player who reminds onlookers so much of their Ivorian legend Drogba – voted their greatest ever player, they face tough competition from Liverpool who themselves are in dire need of a striker to help Luis Suarez up top after exiling Andy Carroll.
Bony’s agent Dalibor Lacina claims that an approach from the Merseyside club has already been made and says “there’s a 50 per cent chance he will leave in January,” and with the price tag of a paltry £10 million, it is understandable why both Premier League clubs are sniffing around the striker who’s already netted 15 goals in 14 games this season in the Eredivisie – more than Torres in his entire Chelsea career!
