Liverpool and Arsenal fans have been left reeling here in the pub this afternoon after reports emerged that long-term target Lorenzo Insigne is set to sign a new deal with current club Napoli.
Italian newspaper Il Mattino suggests that Napoli have reached an agreement with the skilful forward that will increase his wages to almost £3.4million per season on a deal that will see him stay until 2022.
The report comes as a blow to both Kopp and Wenger, both of whom are thought to be big admirers of the Italian international.
Gunners fans here in the pub are bracing themselves for the loss of either Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil this summer and Insigne would have been a cracking replacement, but that possibility is now looking slim.
Meanwhile our Liverpool-mad bartender had his hopes pinned on bringing Insigne in to share some of the creative burden on Coutinho and Firmino but it now seems Klopp will have to look elsewhere too.
