Liverpool and Chelsea fans are on the edge of their seats in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Express revealed that they are chasing Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi, who is dubbed the ‘new Ronaldo’.
It is believed it would cost these Premier League heavyweights £28m to bring the 21-year-old from the Italian giants.
Despite his potential, his future at Inter is in doubt as he supposedly is not part of Roberto Mancini’s plans after he recently became their new manager.
This has sparked rumours that he is leaving the San Siro and his former coach Jesus Hernandez believes Icardi will fulfill his potential if he moves to either Chelsea or Liverpool.
Hernandez said: “If Icardi played in Spain or England, where he is likely to go, he would be a star.
“He will become one. He has the talent to be the new Ronaldo. You’ll see.”
Punters expect that if the player had the choice, he would choose Chelsea, because they are an unstoppable force in the Premier League this season and their club is in a much healthier situation.
