The Liverpool and Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are expecting their teams to have a busy new year…
Both Man City and Liverpool have enjoyed good starts to the Premier League season, though it seems clear that both Guardiola and Klopp have a lot of work to do.
A couple of anomaly results have taken the shine away from an otherwise impressive start, and those results are something that will need to be cut out if the sides want to ensure a title change this season.
Both sides have strong squads, but our landlord thinks that they could both do with a couple of big money acquisitions – and it would seem that Guardiola and Klopp agree.
According to Calcio Mercato, both Liverpool and Man City are keen on landing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, with Juventus also keen.
They add that whilst a January move could be on the cards, a contract situation could make a deal at the end of the season more likely. Should Monchengladbach wish to cash in however – a deal could occur sooner.
It will come as no surprise to see that Liverpool are keen on Dahoud, given that the club reportedly had a £25 million move rejected back in August.
Dahoud is an energetic, box-to-box style midfielder that has no shortage of technical skill. He is good in the pass whilst he can also dribble. A few of the more continentally versed punters in the Tavern think that he is destined for big things…
