There is growing excitement here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the Daily Mirror that Manchester United and Liverpool are set to battle it out for a transfer target once again.
Of course we have all grown familiar with the two giants of English football butting heads in the Premier League and infamous celebrations of players such as Gary Neville still remain in our minds. Now however they are set to fight it out for a player – Brazilian international Dede who is reportedly on the move.
Currently playing for Vasco da Gama in his homeland, the player will be sold in the summer in order to give the club some much needed funds and this has alerted both Premier League clubs. Vasco have admitted they ‘cannot mislead fans’ and the imposing defender will indeed be on his way should the right offer come in.
Liverpool are willing to part with a huge sum of cash in order to beat United to the player and already boast Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho in their squad who are too Brazilian internationals. Both clubs will face stiff competition to land the player dubbed ‘the future star of the 2014 World Cup’ with Corinthians and Fluminese also after the player.
Will either United or Liverpool land Dede? Rate this rumour below.
