Liverpool and Manchester United target lined up for pay rise

PedroThere are some interesting reports emerging in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.

talkSPORT report that Liverpool and Manchester United target Pedro has begun contractual talks with Barcelona despite suggestions he could leave the Camp Nou.

We had previously reported that interest from the Premier League was due to increase with the 26-year-old’s future looking uncertain in recent times.

The winger has been excellent for Barca this term with 17 goals in all competitions and it is this impressive form that has now seen the La Liga champions spark up contract extension negotiations.

Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has started talks over his current deal, which has two years remaining and now Pedro will receive a pay rise as part of any new contract.

Liverpool wanted to fetch him to Anfield with the possibility of Champions League football next term while Manchester United have held a long-term interest in his services.

Now Pedro, who has won a host of titles at Barca and was part of the Spain squad who collected the World and European Championships, seems likely to snub any interest from England to extend his stay in Spain.

It seems that the Barca star will be staying at the Camp Nou but what do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
