Liverpool and Newcastle in-talks regarding defensive deal

EnriqueNewcastle United have been by far the busiest club on Deadline Day so far and they’ve united with the Liverpool punters by the bar to share a pint and discuss a piece of news that involves both clubs.

The Mirror state that Newcastle United are in talks to bring Jose Enrique back to Tyneside to rejoin the club he left Liverpool for five years ago.

Spanish defender Enrique has six months to go on his Liverpool contract, which will bring the end of an injury-plagued spell for the defender on Merseyside, and it’s suggested the Reds are even prepared to pay up his contract.

That would allow Enrique to complete a free transfer to the struggling Magpies, who have been busy today to secure attacking deals with the arrival of Seydou Doumbia and an extension for Ayoze Perez’ contract.

Our landlord believes it’s the right call for Steve McClaren to also seek signings to bolster his defensive ranks, though he’s ensure that Jose Enrique is the right man.

Newcastle fans, would you welcome Enrique back to the club? Let us know in the comments below!
