Liverpool and Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured mixed seasons this term, with the Spurs punters spending most of their time celebrating whilst the Kopites have sulked in the corner.
Despite the differences in campaign, the two top-flight giants share interest in an exciting prospect; as The Daily Mail states both sides are keeping tabs on Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, dubbed the ‘non-league Riyad Mahrez’.
El-Mhanni is currently on trial at Crystal Palace having spent time with fellow Premier League outfit West Brom, with interest in the 20-year-old increasing significantly with the player’s performance for Ryman Premier League side Lewes this season.
The youngster has earned comparisons to Algerian star Mahrez due to his impressive pace and skill attributes and he’s a massive hit on YouTube, whilst he’s also featured on Nike commercials alongside Ballon D’Or finalist Neymar.
Our landlord is excited by this prospect and believes the non-league is really starting to grow, as he urges more top-sides to have a closer look at the grassroots level.
