Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been handed disappointing news, after it was reported that two of their Premier League rivals are competing with the Gunners for a quality signing.
The Daily Star states Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are the latest clubs to express interest in Roma’s excelling striker Umar Sadiq, who has scored 21 goals this season- including two in six Serie A appearances for the Champions League chasing side.
Sadiq, just 19-years-old, is set for a move this summer as Roma plan to buy him from Serie B outfit Spezia before selling him on for a profit, with La Gazzetta Dello Sport stating French outfit Lyon are also keen on the teenager.
Compared to former Arsenal ace Nwankwo Kanu, Sadiq is extremely highly-rated and All Nigeria Soccer have suggested the Gunners have already seen an offer of £15.8m rejected.
Fans may be concerned by the astronomical price possibly required to sign such an unknown quantity but, given his stats this season, it would certainly appear to be money well spent.
