Liverpool approach high-profile duo over key-position

Klopp 5Liverpool fans inside the Transfer Tavern are in a reasonably good mood after yesterday’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Aston Villa, which saw Daniel Sturridge return to goalscoring action, but they’re still concerned about their manager.

Brendan Rodgers has been widely criticised over the past week following a defeat to Manchester United and a draw against Norwich City at Anfield, before they required penalties to defeat League Two outfit Carlisle United in the League Cup.

Whilst the victory over Villa may have brought him some time, next weekend’s Merseyside derby will be crucial- and either way it appears the writing is on the wall.

The Daily Express states that the Reds have approached former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, who is currently enjoying a sabbatical away from football, whilst contact has also been made with former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Developments on the situation will depend on whether either of the duo is interested in the potential vacancy, as Liverpool are unlikely to relieve Rodgers of his duties before his predecessor is lined-up.

Liverpool fans, who is the man you want to come in and save your season?
