There are interesting reports arriving from Spain this evening.
Marca suggest that Barcelona ace Pedro will turn down interest from the Premier League to remain with the Catalan giants.
The 26-year-old Spaniard has told the Spanish daily that he has no interest in the offers he has on the table from English clubs with Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal all thought to have made bids for his services.
The Premier League outfits were hoping to take advantage of his lack of game time at the Camp Nou since the beginning of the season.
However, since Lionel Messi’s injury, Pedro has stepped up with seven goals in his last five games and that has seen him clarify that he is content with life at the La Liga champions.
“I’m happy and relaxed at Barça. I plan to remain at this club and at the end of the season be able to say that things have gone well for me,” said the forward.
“I hope to stay here and win the league. Our goal is to not drop any more points and be challenging for silverware at the business end of the season,” he said.
The Spaniard has made the most of Messi’s lengthy absence to rediscover his appetite for goal and cement a place in the side, convincing Gerardo Martino of his worth after the coach had initially preferred Chilean star Alexis Sanchez.
Pedro has notched up 14 goals so far this season, 10 of which have come in the league, making him and Messi, Barca’s joint top goalscorers.
