Liverpool fans are looking chuffed in the Football Transfer Tavern as their club have managed to fight off competition from Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal to sign the ‘English Messi’.
According to The Express, Liverpool have won the race to sign MK Dons’ young midfielder Dele Alli who has picked up an incredible amount of interest after many standout performances for Karl Robinson’s team.
It is believed that it will cost Liverpool £8 million to bring him to Anfield in January with Alli returning to Stadium:MK for the rest of the season.
Alli turned a lot of heads after his immense Capital One Cup third round performance against Manchester United, punishing the Red Devils’ defence while cruising to an unlikely 4-0 win.
The 18-year-old has been a key player for the Dons and only recently signed a new contract but Robinson has admitted that it is only a matter of time before he loses his prized asset.
Robinson said: “It’s inevitable that there will be a time when we will have to let him go, whether that be in January, next summer or whenever.”
Some punters have voiced their delight to see it is Liverpool who will capture the young talent because it has been proven in recent years that they are willing to blood young British players.
