Liverpool boss aims dig at Jose Mourinho claiming it’s “harder for defenders at Anfield”

Liverpool have had time to take stock and rest-up with a game against Watford on the horizon this evening and the Reds fans here in the Tavern are hoping to bring home the win from Vicarage Road tonight!

The Reds have had a little more time than some of their rivals to prepare for the game this evening, knowing a win will give them a real advantage in the race for the top-four.

With Manchester City, Arsenal and United all failing to win this weekend, the Reds can make massive strives in securing Champions League football if they can take home all three points against the Hornets tonight.

And ahead of the game, Jurgen Klopp has aimed a slight dig at United boss Jose Mourinho, claiming it’s harder to defend in his counter-attacking set-up, like it is for Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester City.

“If you defend deep then you have a lot of legs and help around, that’s how it is. The first goal last week, this is not an excuse, but it can happen with a misjudgement and a counter-attack,” Klopp said in the Metro.

“A centre-half for a top team is playing with a lot of space at the back. That’s how Tottenham act, how City act and sometimes how Arsenal act. Manchester United are for sure a bit different,” he added.

Liverpool still have work to do if they’re to ensure they can finish in the top-four come the end of the season but it’s clear that Klopp isn’t impressed with United’s defensive style of play!
