Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed an exciting revival under Jurgen Klopp, with the highlight certainly being next week’s Europa League final, but many are also getting rowdy when thinking about potential signings this summer.
The Guardian states Liverpool are one of many clubs chasing the signature of Rennes’ electric forward Ousmane Dembele and Jurgen Klopp has spoken to the teenager directly about a possible move to Anfield.
18-year-old Dembele has netted 12 goals in his breakthrough season for Rennes and confirmed earlier this week that’s he will leave the club this summer, making this weekend’s tie with Bastia his last appearance for the French side.
Liverpool can expect to pay around £28m for the exciting star but they face immense competition for his signature, most notably from Klopp’s former side Borussia Dortmund, whilst Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also expressing an interest.
Dembele is understood to have been impressed by Klopp’s Europa League campaign with Liverpool this term and his plans for the future, although he did indicate that he knows where his next destination will be and has made it abundantly clear his preference would be a move to Germany.
