Liverpool boss demands swoop for Barcelona youngster

Cristian Tello Liverpool fans are reacting positively in the Transfer Tavern to suggestions that Jurgen Klopp is putting his foot down at Anfield and demanding the club swoop for a prime January target of his.

The Daily Star, quoting Fichajes, state Klopp is pushing for Liverpool to make a move for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello, with the Catalan club entertaining offers for the highly-rated Spaniard.

24-year-old Tello has a buy-out clause of £18m and is currently on-loan at Porto, who possess an option to secure a permanent deal next summer, but Fichajes state the chances of the player remaining in Portugal are ‘minimal’.

Barcelona need to sell assets in next summer, due to financial mismanagement, and the club will avoid selling their big-stars wherever possible; meaning exits for the likes of Tello, Sergi Samper and Adriano are most likely.

Liverpool would benefit from this situation, with it being likely they could secure Tello for less than his big release clause, and Klopp is determined to see that happen.
