Jack Wilson from the Daily Star is one of those participating in this week’s darts tournament in the Football Transfer Tavern as punters relax after another day at work.
Wilson takes time off the oche to explain to a group of Liverpool supporters that he expects Brendan Rodgers to revive his interest in Dnipro star Yevhen Konoplyanka at the end of the season.
The Reds, of course, failed to land the 24-year-old Ukrainian star on deadline day after his club failed to sign the paperwork that would have taken him to Anfield, leaving Rodgers’ without a January signing.
This lack of strengthening had caused some concern among Reds in the bar, but Wilson has ensured them that the interest in the aggressive attacking midfielder is still there.
When asked if he would consider moving for Konoplyanka in the summer, Rodgers stated: “If we feel he can improve us, we are a professional club.
“There will be a greater market to look at then but it wouldn’t stop us.”
“It is of no consequence now – I don’t focus on that. There is no point in me looking back.”
Tottenham Hotspur were also thought to have watched the highly-rated midfield man, who is valued at around £16 million by his current club.
