Liverpool boss readies move for Leicester City ace

ChilwellLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have got their rounds in for the New Year and are confident that Jurgen Klopp will lead them to better fortune in 2016, though the Leicester City man they’re targeting isn’t who they expected.

The Telegraph states Klopp is keen on Leicester’s England U20 star Ben Chilwell and is preparing a £4m swoop for the highly-rated left-back.

Chilwell, yet to make a Premier League appearance for Claudio Ranieri’s high-flying Foxes, has starred on-loan with Huddersfield Town this season and has attracted interest from top clubs in the past, with Arsenal seeing a £3.5m bid rejected during the summer.

Klopp and his side were initially targeting Chilwell as an addition for the end of the season but it’s now understood they’ve stepped-up their interest after identifying the full-back areas as a position that needs to be strengthened.

However, Leicester City do not want to sell and an injury to Jeffrey Schlupp is expected to see the youngster return to Leicester in January and have his chance of breaking into the first-team.
