Liverpool fans have certainly moved over to the bar in the Football Transfer Tavern simply to hear the latest claim coming from The Sun.
The publication have claimed that the Reds are considering pulling out of any move they may have planned for Adam Lallana.
This is because the Southampton player is rated at being worth £30 million by the Saints and Brendan Rodgers simply does not feel that he is worth anywhere near that – and we have to agree.
Over a pint, one of our punters notes that there are quite a lot of players the Saints could get for that amount of money and we can understand why the club do not think it should all be spent on Lallana.
There is no doubting that the England international midfielder had a great season for Southampton but according to our regulars who are playing a game of pool, we wouldn’t be paying any more than £20 million for his services.
Liverpool fans. Do you agree? Is that far too much money for Lallana or are Southampton within their rights to try and price the player out of any move he might have earned? Let us know your thoughts below.
