Liverpool were held to a draw this weekend by Manchester United and it’s already looking like they have given themselves too much to do in terms of finally winning the Premier League title this season under Jurgen Klopp.
The Anfield club had a summer of spending again in the transfer market, but ultimately failed to address some key problems in the squad, namely in central defence and centre midfield.
Our landlord though here in the Tavern thinks there’s a player over in Spain who the Reds should be looking to sign, and he believes he can go on to have an excellent Premier League career given the chance. That player? Malaga and Spanish youngster Javier Ontiveros.
The midfielder looks to be a top talent and Malaga have in the past produced top players, such as Real Madrid star Isco.
However, Liverpool will be looking to strengthen in the January and summer windows, and Ontiveros could be the ideal sort of player the club need to be looking to bring in.
Highly rated in Spain and by his club, the 20-year-old has begun to impose himself on the first team in La Liga, and this season could be his time to prove himself as a top quality performer. A move to Liverpool would be a logical and progressive step for the youngster, who would surely develop further under Klopp and co.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
