The Football Transfer Tavern is full to the rafters tonight as punters enjoy the afternoon’s football with a few beers when news arrives from the Sunday People that Liverpool are ready to step up their interest in Valencia star Sofiane Feghouli.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been on Brendan Rodgers’ radar for the past season however hopes of signing him were hit when he penned a new long-term deal lasting until 2016 with the La Liga outfit back in January
But the Sunday People insists that he could still be on the move despite his contract with cash-strapped Valencia looking to cash in on their talented Algerian international during the summer.
The former French youth international changed his allegiance to Algeria and impressed for his country at the recent Africa Cup of Nations and that has brought him to the attentions of a number of European sides.
Rodgers, who is keen to shore up his somewhat shaky midfield is looking to pay around the £9 million mark but the Spanish side could hold out for nearer £13 million despite their financial issues.
Liverpool may also face competition for the midfielder with Manchester United and Arsenal both showing interest in bringing him to England while Paris Saint Germain are also thought to be monitoring his progress.
