Liverpool fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are expecting a busy summer transfer window, and manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping for the same according to talkSPORT.
The Liverpool manager has endured an up and down debut season with the Reds, and faces a battle to qualify for Europe next season with local rivals Everton, who they currently trail by five points.
Rodgers has already spent £50 million since taking over in the summer, including £20 million in January on Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho.
Whilst both have looked excellent signings since January, Rodgers believes the club will have to splash even more cash if they are to challenge for the top four next season.
He said: “We’ll be in a much better place at the start of next season. Everyone can see we have improved and got better.
“We’ve got some top players but you need quality throughout the team and once we bring in that quality we’ll move up to the next level.
“We’ll look at it in the summer, every club will bring in more players and we’ll aim to bring in that quality that will improve the squad.”
Liverpool have been looking at Ajax’s Christian Eriksen for a long time now, and he would be considered a coup by most Reds fans although Here Is The City reported yesterday that the Anfield-based club received a blow in the race to land him with the Dane claiming he wouldn’t hesitate to join Manchester City instead.
Will Liverpool bring in a word class talent this summer? And who? Let us know your thoughts below.
