They now look to see who is on the market to replace the controversial Uruguayan and according to the Daily Express, one of those candidates is fellow bad boy Mario Balotelli.
Apparently, Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is lining up a deal for the Italian international forward in a bid to steal him from the snatches of Arsenal who had looked to have been in pole position.
Wenger has apparently denied all interest in the AC Milan forward but a move to England is on after his agent hinted that Balotelli is keen on a return to the Premier League.
He said: “Maybe it was a mistake to bring Mario back to Italy.
“For him it is essential to go where he is loved, and at AC Milan some people love him and some do not.”
Suarez is reportedly on the verge of joining Barcelona for £80 million whereas Balotelli would only demand a transfer fee of around £30 million.
