It is all going off today in the Football Transfer Tavern as is claimed by the Daily Mail that Liverpool are set to close a £5 million deal for a Sevilla player.
Winger Luis Alberto has spent the season on loan at Barcelona B in the Spanish Segunda division and has certainly shown what he can do; so much so that Liverpool are willing to bid £5 million for the player in an attempt to bring him to the club and let him have a chance in the Premier League.
The player had been expected to stay on loan at the Catalan giants next season after being told he would not make it into the first team at Sevilla yet now is sensationally on his way to Anfield. Brendan Rodgers has been looking for young talent to add to his squad and feels that the 20-year-old would be perfect.
Ideally Sevilla would have liked to keep hold of the player while watching how he develops away from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan yet due to their failing financial state, an offer for any of their players would be considered and given this could well rise to an amount as high as £8 million should the player perform well and break into the Reds first team, it seems that the Andalucian side have done well.
