Liverpool confident of agreeing new Andy Robertson contract

Liverpool are no strangers to awarding their best players with new and improved contracts if they continue to perform at a high ability.

The Reds have already been busy extending some of their current stars to new deals and it appears that another one is in line to do the same.

According to a report by Football Insider, Andy Robertson is thought to have agreed to a new five-year contract which will see him double his wages to £60,000 a week.

It is understood the club are confident the terms of the deal are all agreed and believe it is just a matter of the left-back signing the required paperwork.

Robertson has become one of Jurgen Klopp’s key men in the side and his performances have certainly gone a long way to helping the club get to where they currently are.

The Verdict:

Whether Robertson’s impending contract gets signed before the end of the year, the 24-year-old has had an outstanding 2018.

The full-back has seen his form for Liverpool rewarded at international level as well, as he was named the captain of the Scotland senior side.

Getting Robertson to sign a deal until 2023 will be a huge piece of business for the club and one that will delight many at Anfield.
