Liverpool confirm interest in landing Spanish hotshot

A group of Liverpool supporters took their places ahead of their side’s tricky looking fixture at Cardiff City. An eventual 3-6 victory for the Reds means they are well on course for a top four place, and still harbour ambitions of winning the Premier League.

This incredible season of progression at Anfield is likely to open up a new selection of transfer targets with the offer of elite European football.

One of these could be Benfica forward Rodrigo with the Portuguese club admitting to being aware of possible interest from Liverpool.

While it is thought that the Reds are not the only club watching the Spanish striker with several clubs sending scouts to follow the former Bolton Wanderers loanee during their second-leg over Tottenham on Thursday, although he was rested by coach Jorge Jesus.

Now Jesus was on hand to confirm that Liverpool are one of those tracking the prolific frontman, saying to Sky Sports: “It’s normal. Every Benfica player is in a big window.

“The league is full of high quality players so it’s normal for other clubs to be interested.

“Rodrigo is going through a good moment.”
