The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their club to replace Mamadou Sakho this summer, and it appears as though Jurgen Klopp has a plan…
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League duo Virgil van Dijk and Michael Keane are on Liverpool’s radar this summer – as Jurgen Klopp continues his quest to improve the Reds. It is said that with Mamadou Sakho expected to leave, Keane and van Dijk are being lined up as potential replacements – leaving the Reds in the Transfer Tavern feeling delighted.
Michael Keane has, of course, been a breakout star in the Premier League this season – impressing for Burnley whilst the Clarets have solidified their position in the English top flight.
Virgil van Dijk’s future is particularly uncertain, with the Dutchman likely to field interest from across the Premier League this year, having cemented himself as one of England’s top defenders. Though an injury put a premature end to his season, Klopp seemingly hasn’t forgotten what he can do – leading the Reds to consider him as a potential summer transfer.
It appears as though van Dijk is the primary target for the Reds, with the Daily Mail noting that they are willing to break the bank for him, but our landlord thinks that Keane might be an option of better value for the club – with the Englishman hugely impressive this year.
