Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be celebrating after Mohamed Salah was named the PFA Player of the Year and could have some further cause for joy with news being reported.
The Reds have already agreed a deal with Red Bull Leipzig for Naby Keita, however, it is being reported that they could make a saving on the transfer fee due to the position of the Bundesliga outfit.
Sky Sports are claiming that because the German side continues to drop down the table, Liverpool could benefit by having to pay less for the Guinea international. It is believed the Anfield outfit will need to pay around £59million should they finish in a Champions League spot, although it could be around £52.75m at their current position.
If Leipzig continue to fall down the Bundesliga table, it could work out cheaper for the Reds, with a seventh-placed finish expected to bring the transfer fee to around £48m.
The 23-year-old has had a solid campaign once again, having scored nine goals and seven assists in 39 appearances, leaving many punters to feel a £50m fee could be seen as a bargain for a talented player of his age in this market.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern will be hoping the German outfit continue their poor form and slide further down the Bundesliga table, whilst remaining pleased with the contributions Keita has produced.
