The Liverpool supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are mightily relieved to be back among the Champions League and they are now hopeful that the club will spend big to ensure that they are competitive in the major competitions next season.
German boss Jurgen Klopp knows that qualifying for Europe’s top club competition is just the start and that his next ambition must be to push on and make a case for winning the Premier League title for the very first time.
With Liverpool wanting to be a force domestically and on the European stage next season it is likely that some more firepower could be required by the club during the summer months.
One player who could be a handy recruit for Liverpool is Roma striker Edin Dzeko who was in blistering form in Serie A last season, netting 39 goals from his 51 games in all competitions.
Prior to joining Roma he spent time at Manchester City and although didn’t exactly set the league alight there was still some unrest from certain City supporters here in the Tavern who felt that he could still do a job at the Etihad Stadium.
The Bosnian-born player would be a solid signing for Liverpool and with the right service he could score bags of goals for the Reds next season.
One Liverpool fan is sat with a pint here in the Tavern and he is of the belief that Dzeko was unlucky yo be sold be the Citizens, stating that he would certainly welcome the 31-year-old to Anfield next season.
Liverpool fans, what would you make to the club moving for Edin Dzeko? Let us know in the comments below!!!
