Liverpool fans have been quietly sipping their pints today here in the Transfer Tavern as they were not expecting much in terms of arrivals at the club, after a busy transfer window already this summer.
However the Liverpool Echo reports they are making a last ditch attempt to sign Andriy Yarmolenko from Dynamo Kiev.
After their shock 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham it seems Brendan Rodgers is looking for one final player before the transfer window shuts to help propel his side up the table.
The 25-year-old Ukrainian Winger is definitely a threat going forward and has an impressive 19 goals in 49 appearances for his country, and could be the player Liverpool have been missing from their faltering start to the season.
The player has been subject of intense speculation all summer with the likes of Everton, Stoke City, and Sevilla all credited with an interest in the player – however all talks have seemingly broken down.
Our resident Liverpool fans enjoying a pint over by the bar here in the Transfer Tavern feel that Yarmolenko would be an excellent signing, but are not holding too much hope about this news!
