Bruno Fernandes has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool recently, however, it appears the Premier League outfit could miss out on him.
According to Record, via Sport Witness, AC Milan have become the latest side to hold an interest in the £27million-rated ace, as per Transfermarkt, and are thought to have ‘some advantage’ in signing him.
The Sporting Lisbon playmaker has experience of playing in Italy and would not have any trouble adapting to the league if he were to move to the Serie A outfit.
Fernandes has been in brilliant form for the Portuguese side this season, having hit 22 goals and 11 assists in his 39 appearances across all competitions so far.
The 24-year-old has been Sporting’s most important asset, however, it is likely the club will have to sell him in the summer with concerns over their financial situation.
Fernandes would be an excellent addition for Liverpool, however, they could face some trouble in landing him if they were to try and bring him to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp could do with a player of the 24-year-old’s quality in the middle of the field, but Milan’s rumoured interest could make a potential swoop difficult.
With the player knowing Italy extremely well after spells with Novara, Udinese and Sampdoria, a move back to the country could appeal to him more than potentially playing in the Premier League.
