Liverpool could be on the lookout for an attacking midfielder in the summer transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad.
However, it appears one man is not currently on their radar as a potential target once clubs are permitted to make additions.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Liverpool have denied any interest in Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich and is not thought to be a part of their plans.
There has been plenty of speculation surrounding the Colombia international’s future in recent months, despite the German giants having an option to turn his temporary switch into a permanent stay.
Valued at £58.5million by Transfermarkt, Rodriguez is a quality player on his day, however, he has struggled to make the same kind of impact he had during the 2014 World Cup which saw him complete a move to Real Madrid.
If the report is to be believed, it would appear that Liverpool have no interest in bringing Rodriguez to Anfield in the near future.
However, there would be no denying how good of an acquisition a player of the 27-year-old’s ability would be to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
A playmaker would be ideal for the Reds, as they sometimes lack the ability to create attacking chances from the middle areas of the pitch, which was evident in their goalless draw with Manchester United at the weekend.
