Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling good knowing they will be getting one over Arsenal and Tottenham, with Metro revealing that they are moving closer to signing Greek defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
The defender who is currently on loan at Bundesliga outfit Schalke from Bayer Leverkusen, and is set to be offloaded this upcoming summer transfer window.
Kyriakos, 23, can be utilised in the centre back position or in a defensive midfield role, and would certainly add to Brendan Rodgers’ options at the Merseyside club.
The Greece International has also been a target for Arsenal and Tottenham, but Liverpool are seemingly in pole position to land the 6ft defender.
